Daily downpour of heavy rains with successive typhoons in the past few weeks this month caused Thailand its worst National Disaster since a decade ago.
Northern part of Thailand and some rural areas were affected but nothing compares with the damage the rampaging flood has caused to Thailand’s capital – Bangkok. Weeks ago, the nightmare that everyone feared became a dreadful reality. Industrial Parks which has hundreds of factories that are mainly manufacturing products for export is now submerged. Houses (with roof only visible above murky flood water), vehicles and many properties are under water.
SMC Corporation Limited through the tireless efforts of its Director MRS. ORAPHAN BOONTHONG, has raised more than 650,000.00 Thai Baht. The amount is being used to purchase “mini-boats”/ rafts to help those people who are greatly affected of the flood in Bangkok.
Setting aside political colors, race, nationality, gender and age; hand in hand – people are helping people.
Life is a struggle for those who are affected by the flood. One can only hope that this is just a bad dream. Let us continue to pray for the people in Bangkok and other areas affected by flood - for their strength, good health and SAFETY.
