The Powerful Earthquake hits Nepal at 7.8 magnitude last April 25th, 2015 and it was the most powerful earthquake in the country the past 80 years. The earthquake was so powerful that it affected to some areas of nearby countries such as (Tibet) China, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Historical buildings and houses collapsed, temples have been ruined and roads were destroyed. The famous World Heritage Hall and Tara Saharan 9-storey tower, which dates from 1832 collapsed. This natural disaster claimed millions of victims both Nepalese and foreign tourists. There were thousands of deaths and injuries and earthquake survivors experienced shortage of food, water, medicines and vaccines.
Moreover, Nepal is still in fear now following a series of aftershocks. The quake was followed by more than 200 aftershocks and another huge earthquake (7.3) on May 12. They need to evacuate on the open area to avoid from collapsing buildings. While relief good from all over the world were distributed to disaster victims, the rain worsen the roadside area which could delay the distribution.
Our management team and SMC employees raised THB 30,000 to help earthquake victims in Nepal via Help Center for Nepal on May 8th, 2015.
