His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand was the Ninth Monarch of Thailand from the Chakri Dynasty (Rama IX). He was born on 5th December 1927 and having reigned since 9th June 1946. At the time of his death on 13th October 2016 at the age of 88, he was the world's longest-serving head of state and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history, serving for 70 years and 126 days.

H.M. King Bhumibol may truly be called the ‘King of Hearts’ and ‘Father of the Nation’ in Thailand.
