SMC looks at the Trend of Plastic Industry for the Year 2010!
Year 2009 had been a good year for SMC despite the world wide recession. Domestic market was surprisingly strong while the International market was flat. All in all, SMC total sales were unexpectedly good. This is in contrast to many stories of machine manufacturers that closed down its operation due to many operational problems.
But what will Year 2010 be like? Will this year be a promising year for SMC, its partners, suppliers, agents, and the plastic industry as a whole?
According to Dan Hockensmith of PlasticNews, “The trend is likely to continue in 2010 — but the experts differ on how much growth there will be for the industry.”
Yes, the recession and the market crash have affected the plastic industry in the past year; but the market is already becoming stable. Companies are beginning to rise once again after the fall. Consumer demands are picking up the paces, while manufacturers and suppliers alike are mending up the broken pieces.
Well, when world market stabilizes, consumer demands go up, supply of machineries and equipments will also go up. This will be a reality for 2010; a reality that SMC is so positive about!
SMC looks at the future…
SMC through the years has always lived up to its motto “To build machines that are of European Standard but with Asian Price Tag”.
Through the good and bad years, SMC maintained its position in the middle market, catering both the upper, middle and lower end customers – and satisfying both in terms of price, service and quality.
Looking through the SMC market based on its promising regions;
Russian & CIS markets have started to awaken in late 2009, expecting to fully revive in 2010.
Poland and Eastern Europe markets are reviving projects for 2010.
South African, Pakistan and Nigerian markets are steadily increasing their demand for machineries.
Iran and Middle East markets are beginning to open up for SMC.
On top of these, the Far East markets of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand (domestic) are also picking up the slack.
As far as SMC is concerned, Year 2010 promises to be a productive but challenging year.
“Let this year be good, and the Year 2010 is good!...”
Khao Yai Trip (January 15-17)
The recent annual trip for SMC Corp. Ltd. was a success, held at Khao Yai National Park last January 15-17, 2010. Filled with excitement in the air, everybody was enjoying the breath-taking view of the place. Daily morning treks lived to its promise to be FUN, tiring but FUN. Animal watching at night time was stirring and stimulating as anyone can ever imagine. The accommodation was superb. The trip was a much needed relaxation for everyone at SMC, to forget about stress and pressure – for a while and to be fresh for the 2010 challenge.
Our sincere thanks to SMC management for sponsoring the KAO YAI trip!
